“There is so much beauty in the natural world that, at times, I feel overwhelmed by it. What I find most impressive is that this beauty does not require travels to exotic locales but simply opening our eyes to what is before us. Like a fractal, the closer we look the more we see. Through my work, my desire is to show, in part, the beauty of what I see.

“My desire is to celebrate the everyday with the beauty found at our backdoors. This is where we live our lives and this is where we should find our inspiration. For me, I find inspiration wherever I am through the small things like a leaf unfurling or a flower about to bloom.

“All of my images are real scenes from remote locations. With the goal of being an unobtrusive observer I prefer to employ a technique of winning the trust of my subjects by motionlessly appearing to be a part of the natural scenery. This technique has resulted in extraordinary experiences such as rattlesnakes and ground squirrels passing over my outstretched legs as I attempt to get closer to my subjects.”
